ADMUN 2.5

Secretary General’s Compliments

Zoie Gabrielle Symss

Greetings!

As the Secretary-General of ADMUN 2025, allow me, Zoie Gabrielle Symss, to extend a heartfelt welcome! Having participated in MUN conferences for more than four years, and over 20 conferences as a passionate Delegate and Chair, my enthusiasm and eagerness for fostering stimulating debate and igniting intellectual curiosity burns brighter than ever.

This year's theme, "The Cooperative Way: A Sustainable Path Forward," promises to ignite your intellectual fire. With Eight Phenomenal Committees, ready to dissect this multifaceted issue, be prepared to engage in stimulating debate, forge creative solutions, and truly make your mark on a wider platform. From the ever-relevant Disarmament and International Security Council (DISEC) tackling the ethical implications of autonomous weapons systems, to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) grappling with the Future of Work in an AI-powered world.

As the infamous movie, Spider-Man, once quoted, "With great power, comes great responsibility", at Diyafah, we embrace that responsibility; whether you're a seasoned MUN veteran or a curious newcomer. As future leaders, it is our responsibility to engage in these critical discussions, propose innovative solutions, and navigate through the complexities of the 21st century to shape a better future. Here at ADMUN 2.5, we empower you to do just that!

I, for one, am brimming with a confident attitude and ready to tackle any challenge that comes our way. I'm incredibly grateful to the Diyafah community for entrusting me with the honor of Secretary-General. Rest assured, I approach this challenge with a can-do attitude, boundless energy, and a heart brimming with excitement.

I can assure you ADMUN 2.5 is poised to be an experience unlike any other. Let the gavel fall, and let the debates commence!

Warm Regards,

Zoie Gabrielle Symss

Greetings to all!

I am beyond elated to welcome all of you to ADMUN 2.5, the 8th edition of our school’s action-packed, fun filled, and all around amazing MUN! This year, as always, we are improving everything from committees to the overall experience to make your ADMUN conference the BEST MUN you will ever attend!

Model United Nations is an amazing opportunity to allow delegates to display their talents of research, public speaking, debating, and quick decision making. The conference is a place not just for competition to win a trophy (though that is of course a big part of it for many, I know!) it is for everyone to hone their craft, develop their ability, and use it in their lives tactically.

As a frequent MUN-er myself I can say that while the conference is by no means a simple feat to attend on weekends it is invaluable experience for delegates not only in the literal sense of speaking, debating, and research but also because of the people you meet with similar interests all brought together to be a part of the MUN experience. It is truly a beautiful sight to behold, hundreds of delegates in 8 committees, working together to achieve a common goal. This cooperation is the heart and soul of MUNs, which is why, along with the rise of AI in our brave new world we are entering, we have decided on “The Cooperative Way: A Sustainable Path Forward” to be our theme for ADMUN 2.5! You will be working together to decide on creative methods to do so. I am beyond excited to see what the bright minds attending our conference will bring to the table!

It is my honor and privilege to be the Deputy Secretary General for this conference. I have so enjoyed being a delegate for all these years to now have one of the most crucial roles in it! I cannot express my gratitude for this opportunity and my anticipation for the day of the conference to meet and witness the brilliant individuals who will be the delegates of ADMUN 2.5! It is my duty as Deputy Secretary-General to ensure your conference is as amazing as we promise, and I intend to do that!

Regards,

Vehan Dhanithu Mathangasinghe
